Hartson makes massive Griffiths prediction

John Hartson has tipped Leigh Griffiths to go on a goalscoring spree next season.

For over a decade the Welshman looked like being the last Celtic player to score 100 goals.

Gary Hooper, Anthony Stokes and Kris Commons all threatened the landmark but fell short before Griffiths smashed his way through the landmark.

With two goals since the turn of the year and no full 90 minutes appearances it looked like the end had arrived for Griffiths when Celtic allowed their 12 month option to pass by.

Was it the right decision to give Griffiths a new contract?

Yes, we need him and his goals

No, he's wasted too many chances

On Wednesday his Celtic links, likes and follows disappeared from Social Media but at noon today news came out that a 12 month deal had been agreed and signed.

The pressure will be turned up on the striker, especially after Neil Lennon’s comments last week about his lack of fitness and conditioning.

In the first fortnight of the season Celtic face a Champions League qualifier against Midtjylland and SPFL opener away to Hearts. If Griffiths can start the season scoring at the rate Hartson expects everyone will be a winner.
