Leeds United are lining up a double raid on Celtic with Leo Hjelde and Matthew Anderson the targets. Neither teenager has played a first team match.

Celtic have become vulnerable to raids on their youth prospects in recent seasons with Liam Morrison and Barry Hepburn joining Bayern Munich and Josh Adam at Manchester City.

Having a well-established player development network of loans and B/u-23 football is a big incentive with Celtic just getting on board this season with an u-20 team taking part in the Lowland League.

The Sun reports:

Celtic youngster Matthew Anderson is on the radar of Premier League side Leeds United, according to reports. The 17-year old is yet to taste senior football but has emerged as a target for Marcelo Bielsa.

Reports inĀ The Athletic say Leeds are looking to create a ‘junior pool’ of youngsters who could ‘realistically succeed members of Bielsa’s first-team squad’.

Hjelde earned good experience last season on loan at Ross County with some Celtic fans hoping that he could step into the boots of Kris Ajer.

Dane Murray seems to be the preferred choice for that role with Celtic rumoured to be looking to sign another central defender after securing Carl Starfelt in midweek from Rubin Kazan.
