The impressive Celtic Analysis Twitter account has quickly came up with the data for Sacha Boey.
Late on Tuesday night the Glasgow Times came up with a fairly convincing story that Celtic had switched their attention from Brandon Soppy to one of his Rennes team-mates.
Boey spent last season on loan at Dijon where he made an impressive 24 appearances in Lique 1, crucially with his contract expiring next June this summer is critical over whether he’ll be staying on at Rennes or sold elsewhere.

Good amount of mins in top 5 league for 20-year-old. This Boey loves to tackle: attempts more than 99% of other fullbacks and in top 20% for winning tackles.
Quite high dribbler too, most other data around the average mark.

A season of fairly regular action in Ligue 1 should have Boey reasonably well versed in the demands needed at Celtic. In contrast Tony Ralston made one Celtic appearance during the 2020/21 season while Lee O’Connor was on loan at Tranmere Rovers where he started 36 matches in all competitions.
Ange Postecoglou looks unlikely to have any new faces in his side to face Midtjylland on Tuesday, anyone signed before the deadline is unlikely to be upto speed to slot in alongside a new set of team-mates.
For £1m Boey seems a reasonable prospect with the domestic season starting in 17 days time.
