Newcastle United have announced that they have taken on a new retail deal that will see Castore manufacture and sell all of the club’s playing kit.

Since Mike Ashley took control of the club everything associated with Newcastle has been part of Ashley and his Sports Direct chain.

While Castore has been cultivated as two likely lads from Liverpool taking on Adidas and Nike from the backstreets of Merseyside the reality is a little different with mystery British investors helping to promote the company.

Only those that believe that there are billionaires in Motherwell will accept that Ashley is prepared to give an independent rival access to Newcastle United and their fanbase.

After the hype surrounding their Ibrox launch the reality of the service has shocked many fans. Delivery has been haphazard with quality standards non-existent with Social Media showing kit that is unrecognisable after a wash or two.

Sports Direct are still waiting for damages and costs from the Ibrox club for failing to provide them with matching rights when they switched to Hummel in 2018. The Danish firm cut short their three year contract with 12 months left to run allowing the Beahon Boys of Castore to step in.
