The signing of Carl Starfelt was just too good for Celtic’s social media team to resist.
From the moment that the Swede was first linked with Celtic his name struck a chord, especially with fans from the golden days of Davie Bowie and his star man.
The tweet certainly went down well with fans that had grown tired on a string of birthday wishes that has made up much of Celtic’s social media content until the closing days of Peter Lawwell’s regime.
Soon afterwards a drier more predictable announcement was made but coming after confirmation of Kris Ajer’s departure it seems that some joined up thinking is at play inside Celtic Park.
Starfelt won’t be available for next week’s second leg tie against Midtjylland but depending on his entry point to the UK he might be in line for a debut in the SPFL opener away to Hearts on July 31.
The arrival of the Swede takes Celtic’s summer spending to over £10m but with fees coming in for Ajer, Jack Hendry and Vakoun Bayo the books are still very much in the black.
