Kyogo Furuhashi will make an emotional farewell to Vissel Kobe tomorrow before starting a new life and career with Celtic.
Overnight, without any media speculation the 26-year-old took a massive step towards joining Celtic with terms agreed between the two clubs and the player. Once a medical and international clearance is completed his move will go through.
Tomorrow Kobe take on Cerezo Osaka in the J League with Furuhashi likely to say farewell to the club and fans that have helped set him up for a move to Europe. A pitchside wave is more likely than a playing appearance with a transfer fee of £4.6m involved.
At 3am Vissel Kobe announced the agreement on their website, at 8.25 Celtic confirmed the move which has the stamp of Ange Postecoglou all over it.
It looks highly unlikely that Furuhashi will be involved in the Champions League qualifiers against Midtjylland but provided there are no last minute hitches he should be involved in the SPFL opener away to Hearts in 15 days time.
