Ange Postecoglou is expecting to have transfer announcements over ‘the next week or so’.

A fortnight ago the new Celtic boss held his first media conference, admitting that there were positions urgently needing worked on.

Since then Celtic have signed Osaze Urhoghide but the new bhoy didn’t feature in yesterday’s 3-1 win over his old club, Sheffield Wednesday.

In 12 days time Midtjylland visit Celtic Park in a Champions League qualifier with time getting neat to have any new signings in place to face the Danes.

Realistically only players already in the UK are likely to play against Midtjylland with three friendlies lined up before the start of the competitive action.

Discussing transfer activities after the win over Sheffield Wednesday the Celtic boss told The Sun:

I’m hoping over the next week or so we have some announcements. We are looking at two or three people at a time.

Confirm or deny, I would then be putting myself in a position where people think we have just one target for one position. There’s no doubt this squad needs bolstering. We have a lack of depth in areas. You look at centre back, wingers and at right back.

With Leigh Griffiths removed from the training camp in Wales striker will also become a priority position to strengthen.

Odsonne Edouard and Albian Ajeti both scored in yesterday’s friendly match but beyond that Jonathan Afolabi looks like the only other option.
