Celtic targets Brandon Soppy and Sacha Boey are reported to be pushing towards the exit.

Ange Postecoglou highlighted his need to sign a right-back with the Rennes duo both gaining attention.

Soppy seems to be valued at around £4m based on his international pedigree while Boey, who spent last season on loan at Dijon is priced at £1m with both players out of contract next summer.

French football has been hit with uncertainty over broadcasting deals forcing clubs to consider selling rather than offering lucrative new contracts in anticipation of future transfer fees.

Discussing Rennes transfer activity, Footmercato reports:

Sacha Boey, Yann Gboho, Brandon Soppy and Rafik Guitane are also pushed towards the exit. For Sacha Boey, under contract until 2022, Celtic is on the spot as well as other L1 clubs. Also in this list, Brandon Soppy also interests the Scots. A departure is current.

Tony Ralston, Lee O’Connor and Osaze Urhoghide have played at right-back in Celtic’s pre-season matches with all three short on experience.

Celtic play Preston North End tomorrow in their final warm up match with the serious stuff starting on Tuesday when Midtjylland visit in a Champions League qualifier.
