Celtic fans were quickly on the case as Tom English took Celtic Fan Media to task for the second time in just over a week.
It seems that a 50 minute media conference given to supporter-led websites has caused an outbreak of panic among old media as they see the tide turning against them.
At one stage new media was dismissed as Internet Bampots and Keyboard Warriors but now that names and voices have appeared putting forward topical points and discussions the former big hitters are getting increasingly concerned.
English, Hugh Keevins and Keith Jackson have all published their distaste for allowing new media access to Ange Postecoglou and Dom McKay. It seems that irony is lost on them as they use their privileged positions to attack those on the outside.
In fairness to Jackson and Keevins they are employed in the commercial world that is decided by audiences, inside BBC Scotland English only has the declining number of licence payers to be concerned with.
Like Social Media fan-based content is here to stay, if the old warriors can’t demonstrate their superior content they will slip to the margins even quicker than they are at the moment.
Amazing the number of predominately Celtics fans who are incapable of praising ‘fan media’ without simultaneously attacking mainstream media in the most unhinged way. Lads, ignore us. Unfollow. It’s fine. Support your own. But spare us the weirdness.

Calling the mainstream out for what it is,is not an attack! And the only weirdness is how a guy who knows hee haw about football feels like he can lecture people on it! We all get that you and your kind are rattled by fan media, and no amount of trying to twist it can hide it! ?

Isn’t fan media a direct result of a major issue with mainstream media though.

Pile away. I’ve probably muted most of them
— Tom English (@TEnglishSport) July 4, 2021
Tam, don’t let them get to you, just remember how good that succulent lamb tastes???
— Paul Donnelly (@PaulDon10250013) July 4, 2021
Is the mainstream media not the ones tarring every fan led outlet with the same brush?
Honest and hardworking outlets are getting painted to be terrible for the sake of the mainstream’s agenda because they can only focus on 90 seconds of a 50 minute conference ??

I was one of them many years ago. Room for everyone as I have said on many occasions. Some excellent podcasts out there. Just spare me the venom of some on here. That’s my point.

21 trophies. Wow, what a short memory you have

To be fair, the question wasn’t entirely ridiculous. It was informative about a point that most Celtic fans have thought for generations. The odds in this country, when it comes to referees and SMSM are hugely stacked against us, compared to the blue side of the city.
— Malley (@malleyd67) July 4, 2021
‘The part the SMSM has played’ Eh? Fan media has been around for 30 or 40 years mate. Podcasts are just the latest manifestation of it.
— Tom English (@TEnglishSport) July 4, 2021
‘Spare us the weirdness’ is what I often think when I hear you on the radio. I don’t get a choice in that, yet a licence fee payer. Speaking of weird, surprised the BBC let you hold such unfair and unbalanced views. Seemed to hit a certain Michael Stewart hard for that.

Have to say the full Anne budge promotion stank to high heaven. Fact is SHE blew it not Celtic by waiting 10 weeks or so from Stendel and keeping levein about for 12 months to late. Not forgetting the cathro appointment…Celtics fault but.
