Vincent Angelini is reported to have joined Watford from Celtic.

The young goalkeeper, a grandson of Davie Hay, has been tipped to leave Celtic for some time, joining the likes of Liam Morrison, Barry Hepburn and Josh Adam.

Angelini, who has joint Scottish and Italian nationality, had been full-time at Celtic for a year but Lockdown and the lack of structure below first team level meant that playing opportunities were extremely limited.

The Daily Record (8.47am) reports:

Young Celtic keeper Vincent Angelini has joined Watford, according to a report. The Daily Mail report the Hornets have swooped to sign the out of contract teenager. Angelini, 17, has seemingly departed Parkhead following the expiry of his contract at the end of the season.

At Watford he can drop into a well-established system where players can go out on loan or play in the u-23 league as they move up the ladders. All of the matches will be played on grass while in Scotland a large number of lower division clubs play their matches on plastic.

Later this month Celtic will start their campaign in the Lowland League which will give players u-20 the prospect of fixtures every weekend to prepare for.

Tobi Oluwayemi, who recently extended his Celtic contract, looks like starting the season in the Colts side.
