Midway through the morning after and there is no sign of Dom McKay.

Last night Ange Postecoglou was served up as the consequence of the serial failures in the Celtic boardroom, the people that had watched AEK Athens, Cluj and Ferencvaros with barely a shrug of the shoulders.

Brendan Rodgers battled against the odds and boardroom indifference to get Celtic into the group stages in 2016 and 2017 but the summer of 2018 was too much for him to overcome.

McKay is apparently a communicator, someone that understands the customers and puts them front and centre of how a business operates.

Last night Postecoglou had to face the media to explain the defeat to Midtjylland while McKay and Ian Bankier were hiding in the shadows.

The new manager might be discovering the reasons that the Celtic board tuned to Asia to find a manager, the global club image that they promote doesn’t quite stand up to the reality created by a boardroom high on complacency.

McKay needs to show himself soon, not being Peter Lawwell won’t last forever as he works to the instructions of a board led by the massively underwhelming Bankier.

At 11.30am the only story added to the club website was an interview with Tommy McIntyre for the B team win over Stirling Uni.
