Pain, anger and disgust were written all over David Edgar’s face as he watched Mister Gerrard’s team crash out of the Champions League to Malmo.
With his new found credibility and media status Edgar enjoys the red carpet treatment at Ibrox, bringing bears the new direct, by bears for bears without being laundered through the hostile traditional media.
Last season he was able to watch from a near empty Ibrox as Mister Gerrard’s side sneaked through the SPFL season unbeaten to enjoy some solo celebrations.
Against Malmo 50,000 bears were in full voice as Alfredo Morelos levelled the aggregate scores after just 18 minutes of the first half.
One goal against 10 men in the second half would have been enough to move a step closer to the Champions League group stage and the chance for Edgar to showcase his broadcasting talents from Madrid, Milan, Paris and Barcelona.
The second half was Comedy Gold as Malmo scored twice with furious bears deserting Ibrox in their droves leaving Edgar to deliver his post mortem followed by some sympathetic questions to his hero in the media conference.
