BBC Scotland has chosen not to cover a hate march that literally passed by their doostep.
Taking the route from Argyle Street in Glasgow city centre to Ibrox hundreds of anti-Irish racists would have passed with 500 yards of Pacific Quay.
With their vast resources to cover stories across the country there is no excuse for the state broadcaster refusing to cover yesterday’s events.
MPs, MSPs and Glasgow councillors all shared their outrage on Twitter. With video footage also available on social media it allowed BBC Scotland to provide detailed coverage at minimal cost.
If they needed any extra reasons to cover the story it came later in the day when Patrick Harvie, Humza Yousaf and Aamer Anwar all commented. But still BBC Scotland found more important issues for the news pages of their website.
It seems that Scotland’s racist shame isn’t confined to those out on the streets of Glasgow on Sunday.
For those hurling racist abuse at our Irish community telling them to “go home” – Scotland is their home.
Disgusted to once again see anti-Irish racism rear its ugly head. Solidarity with our Irish community.
