Celtic fans reacted favourably to the overnight news that Thomas Henry of OH Leuven is a transfer target.
A fee of £7m for the second top scorer in last season’s Belgian League seems like great value- especially in comparison to the return from Vakoun Bayo, Patryk Klimala and Marian Shved in recent times.
The departures of Neil Lennon and Peter Lawwell has brought fresh optimism to Celtic’s transfer activity with the impact of Kyogo Furuhashi giving fans hope that Ange Postecoglou knows his way around the murky waters of transfer business.
Henry has two years left to run on his Leuven contract which puts his club in the driving seat with the initial report in The Sun claiming that Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Roma are also showing interest in the striker.
Normally losing last season’s top scorer is an unwelcome development but with Odsonne Edouard failing to sparkle many fans are hoping that his move goes through quickly with Henry and others coming in to allow Postecoglou’s side to take shape.
Should Celtic sign up Henry for £7m?
Yes, looks ideal for Ange's side

Just a quick glance at him tonight but looks like Ange is profiling similar forwards. Looking forward to diving into the data later in the week.

The best things about these types of player eg Kyogo,Jullien,Henry are that they aren’t young projects. They have already performed well, are at a good age upon purchase and therefore very unlikely to move on as their peak will be in 2/3 yrs and not suitable for PL teams aged 29.

Been saying we need a striker like this for a couple seasons. Think I’ve seen Eddy head the ball twice in his time here

We could have a new Sutton/Larsson type partnership.
