Celtic’s B team face a fixture clash after being drawn at home to Morton in the SPFL Trust Cup.

Tommy McIntyre’s side beat Annan Athletic 2-0 in midweek and have been drawn at home to Morton in the next round, with landlords Airdrie also at home to face Queens Park on September 4.

Celtic’s game could be put back 24 hours to the Sunday but there is also the option to play the fixture at Celtic Park which is vacant due to international fixtures.

The SPFL Trust Cup allows Celtic to field u-21 players with the hoops taking advantage of that with Lee O’Connor and Scott Robertson scoring against Annan.

Championship Morton will represent a far tougher challenge with some of the Celtic players likely to go out on loan before the transfer window deadline closes.

This afternoon Celtc’s B team are away to Vale of Leithen in the Lowland League. The young hoops are 1/25 for the match against managerless opponents who have lost all six matches with a goal difference of 1-24.
