Celtic are reported to be tracking OH Leuven striker Thomas Henry.

With Odsonne Edouard expected to be sold this month a replacement striker is a priority despite the scoring exploits of the team over the last two matches.

Kyogo Furuhashi looks capable of delivering 20 plus goals but beyond him there isn’t much evidence to suggest that Albian Ajeti or Leigh Griffiths are capable of delivering a similar return.

The Daily Record reports:

Ange Postecoglou is tracking French striker Thomas Henry as a replacement for exit-bound Odsonne Edouard.

The new Celtic boss, who has seen new signings Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada hit the ground running, wants more firepower and is ready to pounce for the 26-year-old OH Leuven striker.

And he hasn’t been put off by the Belgian outfit rejecting Swansea City’s £6million bid for him three weeks ago.

The Parkhead outfit will bring in around £18m for Edouard if, as expected, he heads to England before the end of the transfer window.

And Postecoglou has been told that he can reinvest the cash in his squad – with the Aussie on record as saying he is hoping for another two recruits to come through the door by the end of the week.

Postecoglou has brought in five signings with four of them starting the 6-0 win over Dundee.

Celtic’s transfer focus seems to have been moved into the mid-twenties bracket away from the £2-£3m project range that has failed the club in recent seasons.

The Belgian market should be fairly familiar to Celtic with deals concluded over the summer for Vakoun Bayo, Marian Shved and Jack Hendry. No incoming deals have been concluded yet but Aurelio Buta of Royal Antwerp has been strongly linked with a move to Celtic.
