Dundee have made a bid to take Leigh Griffiths on loan to Dens Park, according to Anthony Joseph.
James McPake, the Dundee boss, is a former Hibs team-mate of Griffiths who recently turned 31 and featured in the Scotland international side last season.
The striker enjoyed a prolific spell with Dundee to earn a move to Wolves in January 2011 but seems to have ran out of lives at Celtic despite being handed a 12 month contract on July 1.
Within a week he had been sent home from the pre-season training camp in Wales and although he was cleared by a club investigation his first team involvement has been limited.

Meanwhile, Celtic confirmed earlier this afternoon that defender Leo Hjelde has joined Leeds United.

After a 35 minute appearance against West Ham in a friendly the former Scotland striker’s only first team involvement was as an unused substitute in the Premier Sports Cup win over Hearts, he hasn’t been involved in the three matches since.
Dundee currently have Cillian Sheridan, Jason Cummings, Osman Sow and Paul McMullan as attacking options.
Wages would be a major issue for Dundee and Celtic to resolve in any deal with the hoops striker likely to be on a basic way in excess of the top earners at newly promoted Dundee.
