Josip Juranovic is reported to be flying to Glasgow on Friday to complete his transfer to Celtic.
The defender is in the Legia Warsaw squad to face Slavia Prague in a Europa League play-off but with his transfer at such an advanced stage it would seem unlikely that he will play for Legia again.
Legia.net reports:
Josip Juranovic is very close to changing clubs. The Croatian representative, after returning from the match against Slavia Prague (19.08., 19:00), will go to Glasgow, where he will finalize his move to Celtic.
This means that he will definitely not play in the league match against Bruk-Bet Termalica on Sunday, August 22, at 20:00. Will he play a rematch with Slavia? This is not known yet.
Juranovi? will go to the Scottish runner-up for EUR 3 million, the contract will include bonuses that will be earned by the Polish champions. He joined Legia with Hajduka Split before the 2020/2021 season, he cost 400,000. Euro, but Legia was to make payments only after a year. He played 40 official matches, scored 1 goal and assisted with 10.
With 34,000 Twitter followers Legia.net seems a fairly credible source for the club that had two eventful games with Celtic in 2014.
Right-back was identified as a problem position early on by Ange Postecoglou but the early season form of Tony Ralston has made it less of a priority.
At the age of 26 Juranovic looks ready made to go straight into the Celtic side, as a current Croatian international he won’t be coming to Scotland to be a back-up.
So far in the transfer window the Celtic defence has remained virtually untouched with Carl Starfelt’s arrival announced within an hour of the £13m transfer of Kris Ajer to Brentford.
