Ryan Jack is set to give Sevco a massive boost with the midfielder close to resuming full training.

Scotland star Jacko suffered a sore knee in February, underwent surgery in March and was expected to be fit in time to start pre-season training.

It seems that he has suffered a couple of set-backs but could be back to join John Lundstram and Juninho Bacuna as Steven Gerrard applies the finishing touches to an exciting new midfield. With Steve Davis, Scott Arfield, Ianis Hagi, Glen Kamara and Joe Aribo available the Ibrox boss isn’t far away from being able to field a team of midfielders.

Ryan Jack is getting on well, he is getting closer and closer but obviously, we need to be patient with him, he’s missed a lot of football but he’s one that we’re really looking forward to having back.

Ryan is a standard setter, someone who we’ve missed, certainly this season so we’re looking forward to getting him back.

Jacko made 30 appearances last season for club and country but hasn’t surfaced since facing Dundee United on February 21.
