Chris Sutton has challenged the Celtic board to fully fund the Ange Postecoglou Revolution.

Five wins on the bounce has resulted in fans buying into AngeBall but tonight’s narrow aggregate win over AZ Alkmaar highlighted a number of flaws including the lack of depth in the squad.

So far the new manager has still to reshape the defence. Carl Starfelt has replaced Kris Ajer with Josip Juranovic waiting for his debut at right-back.

Celtic’s frontline has been reshaped by the signings of Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abad but similar surgery is required elsewhere.

Beyond tonight’s starting XI it seems that only Odsonne Edouard, Ismaila Soro, James McCarthy and James Forrest can be trusted which is a thin spread ahead of the heavy autumn and winter fixture schedules.

With five days left in the transfer window there is lots of work still required at Celtic, with an added concern over whether Edouard and Ryan Christie will still be at the club for the start of next season.

They need a left-back, a centre-back, Edouard needs to stay, Christie needs to stay.

What happened last season was an embarrassment to the club, there are signs now that Celtic are turning a corner/have turned a corner but give the manager the chance to wipe the floor with Rangers.

I don’t know what is going on at Rangers, across the city this season. They were very poor tonight against Alashkert who were hopeless, absolutely hopeless and they scraped through. Celtic have the chance of turning things over. Is it complacency across the city? I’d be looking over my shoulder and be worried about Celtic. Celtic imploded last season, could that be happening at Rangers.
