Ewan Murray of The Guardian enjoyed a pleasant afternoon yesterday at Ibrox. There was no hassle or sectarian chants as he made his way to and from the match on the city underground.
Perhaps he has partial deafness as 50,000 fans on all four sides of the stadium got through their hate list before five minutes had passed in the match.
It is almost two years since Celtic played in front of fans at Ibrox, 24 months of anti-Catholic and anti-Irish bile was released but not according to the Hearts fan at the Grunaid.
I got the subway to and from Ibrox today with no hassle, sectarian chants… actually nothing at all. The Old Firm venues are hugely improved from even a decade ago. This silly little boy/ultra element needs stamped upon. But it doesn’t represent how people behave.

When Scottish reports mention sectarian they are covering for racism, anti-Irish racism, something that The Guardian would normally strongly condemn. Not Murray however.
During the close season the Ibrox PR Department decided that it would cost £25,000 per publication for the traditional facilities of access to pre and post match media conferences plus a gantry seat to watch the match.
Only STV appear to have paid up but yesterday there were reporters from Radio Clyde and the Guardian inside Ibrox, other titles are likely to have been invited back.
Having followed the party line Murray will be hopeful of getting an invite back to enjoy the Europa League tie against Lyon two weeks on Thursday.

This so called journalist supports a team who sing a variation of the billy boys. It’s not a variation, it’s a vindication of what they and countless more think.

Glad you were okay, Ewan. However, There is another team in Scotland who have a problem with Irish Catholic’s, and you support them.

The video last week is a snapshot of what noone sees. This idea its a few daft boys or a few ultras is complete bollocks. And its why fans increasingly dont trust traditional media sources.

For a silly little boy ultra element

In a few weeks time, come through with me when it’s Hibs’ turn to visit ibrox and we’ll go via train and tube. Maybe wear a green jacket or jumper or something and see what lovely reception you get from the welcoming Rangers fans
