Ange Postecoglou remains hopeful that new faces are on their way to Celtic.

It is now 13 days since the double signing of Joe Hart and James McCarthy ahead of the Europa League tie away to Jablonec.

Postecoglou looks like facing AZ Alkmaar with McCarthy as the only addition to his squad with just over a fortnight to go before the transfer window closes.

It looks very likely that future deals are dependent on the transfer of Odsonne Edouard despite the defence being in dire need of new faces.

Picking up on Postecoglou’s pre-match interview with Radio Scotland, The Sun reports the Celtic boss saying:

I hope we’re close (to bringing in new faces). We are working hard and the window is not indefinite. Time is running out but I’m very, very confident we will have some more players in before that happens.

Celtic have two matches against AZ Alkmaar to play plus St Mirren and a Glasgow derby at Ibrox before the transfer window closes.

Today’s win was achieved without Ryan Christie and Liel Abada but in defence Postecoglou doesn’t have the sort of depth to do without any of his current back four of Tony Ralston, Stephen Welsh, Carl Starfelt and Greg Taylor.
