Callum McGregor made his first SPFL home match as captain a very memorable experience.

Taking over from Scott Brown was a huge task with Celtic fans used to a very visible form of leadership from the inimitable Broony.

The number 1 haircut, staring eyes and willingness to mix it were a powerful cocktail as the Fifer spurred Celtic on to some unprecedented successes.

McGregor hasn’t attempted to emulate that style of captaincy but at the end of today’s match the fans got to see what the new skipper is made of.

It wasn’t quite a huddle but the whole team got a few words from McGregor which they seemed keen to take on board.

New standards were set today, the team played for 90 minutes, goals came from new sources with a clean sheet achieved by the much-maligned back lot.

After a year of streaming frustrations the fans are there, the thunder is back and a new dynamic is leading Celtic by example.
