Josip Jurannovic is reported to be keen to join Celtic after a transfer fee was agreed with Legia Warsaw for the defender.

Ange Postecoglou has been looking for a right-back since he took over in June with Jonjoe Kenny, Hatem Abd Elhamed, Jeremie Frimpong and Kris Ajer filling that position last season.

Tony Ralston has arguably been Celtic’s best player this season which is just as well as there appears to be nothing behind him as back up.

Sky Sports reported:

Celtic have agreed a £2.5m fee to sign right-back Josip Juranovic from Legia Warsaw.

The clubs reached an agreement on Tuesday evening, and Juranovic is keen on the move to Parkhead, although the last details of the deal and personal terms for the player are yet to be finalised.

Juranovic moved from Hadjuk Split to Legia last summer but their Champions League exit last week has forced them into transfer activity to plug the funding gaps.

At the age of 26 he fits in with the older age profile that Postecoglou appears to be looking for with Carl Starfelt and Kyogo Furuhashi at the same stage in their career.

Yesterday Postecoglou acknowledged that Juranovic was one of the right-backs that Celtic are looking at, with 13 days left in the transfer window deals now need to be completed to avoid frantic activity as the end of the month.
