Josip Juranovic made a favourable impression on his Celtic debut despite the defeat at Ibrox today.
Nine days after completing his transfer from Legia Warsaw the Croatian internationalist replaced Greg Taylor at left-back with a shoulder injury ruling out the former Kilmarnock defender.
Juranovic slotted in without any fuss, showing good awareness and anticipation as he snuffed out the threat down his side and linked wherever possible with Kyogo Furuhashi.
Being right-footed there wasn’t too many signs of Juranovic overlapping down the left but it looks like his settling in time will be minimal with a duel against Tony Ralston underway for the right-back slot.
With an international break coming up the new bhoy will have to wait a fortnight before making his home debut with Ange Postecoglou expected to be busy in the final days of the transfer window.
Over the course of a month the Celtic support has been given hope that a new look side can get back among the honours but the squad does seem thin with reinforcements required in most areas of the park.
1 month into a rebuild, I’m ok with aspects of the performance. Ralston outstanding again, Juranovic will be a great addition. Big 3 days ahead to get the manager the quality & depth he needs to implement his plan fully.

Plenty of positives to take from a shite result
Excellent _ Ralston, Juranovic
Good _ Mcgregor, Kyogo, Welsh
Pass _ Starfelt, Hart
The rest all need to take a look at themselves
Eddie been great for us but his time is over move on this week.

Hard to take any positives out a game we never really showed up to but Juranovic looks a good find. Ralston looked comfortable again, growing into a decent player

7/10 for me, Ralston was good again, Juranovic done what he could with the baptism of fire

Juranovic looked really good. We’ll be much better as the season goes on. Always disappointed to lose, but we’ve nothing to fear from that lot.

You will thrive.
Juranovic looks solid and strong
Starfelt had his best game in a Celtic Jersey
Hart vocal and commanding in his box comfortable in goal
Turnbull needs to drop back into a deep lying playmaker role along side McGregor
Play rogic in the hole behind
