For over a year it has been a burning issue and problem position for Celtic, but after five games it seems that Joe Hart has solved Celtic’s keeper fears.

Fraser Forster’s decision not to return on loan last summer sent the club into something of a tailspin that carried on into the new season under Ange Postecoglou.

The new boss initially put his trust in Vasilis Barkas but gave into reality after the former AEK Athens keeper lost a bad goal to Midtjylland followed by a highly unconvincing display against West Ham.

Scott Bain came in for the defeats against Midtjylland and Hearts before an SOS was sent out and answered by Hart.

After five years with his career on the slide Hart is back playing regular, a first choice and part of something fresh and exciting under Postecoglou.

It is still early days but Celtic now have a keeper with presence, someone that defenders can trust and look up to for guidance. Hart seems to enjoy the added responsibility.

The next three matches will go a long way towards shaping Celtic’s season, as Postecglou puts his squad together he knows that he can concentrate on outfield players with a year long problem solved.
