Ryan Jack’s comeback from injury has been put on hold.

The midfielder hasn’t played since February 21 when he was replaced by Glen Kamara after less than half an hour of a 4-1 win over Dundee United.

After a few false starts and delays Jacko required surgery on his knee with the rehab ruling him out of the European Championships.

The 29-year-old was tipped to return for pre-season training but is still short of joining in with his team-mates with uncertainty over the condition of his knee.

Unprompted at this morning’s pay-for-access media conference, Gerrard said:

Ryan Jack, we’ve been told to just slow down a little bit on Ryan. So he’ll probably be another couple of weeks, all being well.

Since mid-June it has been reported that Jacko in 7/10 days away from resuming full training.
