Glen Kamara can forget about a move to Spartak Moscow to escape Ibrox.

The former Dundee star is one of the lowest paid members of Steven Gerrard’s squad with the deals for John Lundstram, Kemar Roofe and Ianis Hagi dwarfing the contract he got when he left Dens Park in a £50,000 deal in January 2019.

Kamara was suspended from last week’s Champions League exit to Malmo but the ramifications of losing £30m plus will be felt throughout the club.

Josh Windass is the only player to have been sold for over £1m but all of a sudden Ross Wilson is expected to bring in £20m over the next fortnight.

The Sun carried the original story about Kamara but like his team-mates it seems like there is little interest in the squad that bottled it against 10 man Malmo at Ibrox.

Alfredo Morelos is being linked with a new club every day but as Steven Gerrard admitted last Thursday no club has put in an offer for any of last season’s Behind-Closed-Doors title winners.

Kamara is under contract at Ibrox until June 2023.
