Gary McAllister has revealed that there could be advantages to reports of positive test cases from Ibrox.

Two goalkeepers, James Tavernier, Ryan Kent and superyoomn Scott Wright were left behind in Glasgow yesterday alongside Steven Gerrard when the squad flew to Armenia.

The Ibrox club are now heavily involved in gymnastics to get those players available to face Celtic while some minor squad-fillers do a Jordan Jones and George Edmundson by taking one for the team.

At his media conference (6 minutes 20 seconds) McAllister explained:

You’ve got to be mindful of the fact that now we have moved on, and a lot of people around our club are double vaccinated, there are advantages. So, we’ll be looking at that. Things are going to be changing as we speak.
I’m sure our medical people at the club are all over that. They pass information to the governing bodies and we will be getting guided by them as well.

The elephant in McAllister’s room is the UEFA testing that the entire party in Armenia will have to undergo before and after today’s match.

Anyone testing positive will have to be kept apart from the rest of the squad who are expected to fly straight home after the match with arrival in Glasgow expected in the early hours of Friday.

Big John Lundstram will be available for Sunday after missing today’s game against Alashkert due to suspension.

Ryan Jack will miss out on Sunday but the Scotland hero is expected to resume full training in the next 7/10 days after successfully undergoing knee surgery in March.
