Last night’s Champions League exit to Malmo proved too much for one Ibrox fan.

The build up to their first ever Champions League qualifiers had been incredible with the media convinced that John Lundstram would bulldoze his way to a £40m payday in the Champions League.

Alfredo Morelos, James Tavernier and Ryan Kent had resisted offers from elsewhere to play their part in the Ibrox dream hatched in the bleak summer of 2012.

Even the Scottish Government got in on the act by allowing a full attendance inside Ibrox, the first visit for most fans since the Bayer Leverkusen humping in March 2020.

Paul didn’t take it well; reality has always been the enemy with the company believed to be losing £2m a month funding Project Gerrard.

Reaching the Champions League would have kicked the can down the road, last night’s failure intensifies the pressure on the club with the Directors no longer prepared to underwrite the losses- turning to the fans in June to raise £6.5m.

Hopefully Paul took up the opportunity to invest in his company.
