In midweek two Scottish clubs scored late goals away from home in Europe.
On Tuesday Steve Davis’ deflected shot found the net to give his side hope of turning around a defeat in the home leg.
Two nights later a brilliant, brave diving header from Scotland internationalist Ryan Christie restored Celtic’s two goal lead in Jablonec to make the return leg almost a formality.
Watching both ties was the biggest news outlet in Scotland. A broadcaster and publisher with resources that swamp every other outlet, funded directly from the state.
BBC Scotland pay the highest wages, in theory that should attract the top talent. With no commercial implications they can deliver news exactly as it is, without having to curry favour either through open support or contempt and disdain.
As football fans know the BBC has a certain agenda, it comes from a squad of contributors that includes Neil McCann, Steven Thompson, Billy Dodds, Derek Ferguson, Chris Burke, Kenny MacIntyre, Richard Foster. For balance Gregory Campbell or Iain McMenemy are never more than a phone call away from the airwaves.

There’s something wrong in Scotland, there’s something wrong in the West Coast of Scotland, there’s something wrong in the Scottish West Coast media.

@BBCSportScot were at pains to tell us that our opponents were a ‘bang average side’ also, while hailing The Rangers as world-beaters for beating mid-table teams from Poland & Belgium last year.
