Video: The incredible triple chance that kept Alkmaar in the hunt

Celtic TV have released goal-line coverage of the triple chance that could have put the hoops out of sight against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League play-off.

Leading 2-0 from midway inside the second half most Celtic fans would have settled for that scoreline to take into next week’s return match in the Netherlands.

With five minutes left to play Tony Ralston made another charge into the Alkmaar penalty box, his cut back was met by Odsonne Edouard who had two attempts at it before the ball fell to Adam Montgomery whose close range effort was also headed off the line before the ball was booted clear for a corner.

Despite five minutes of stoppage time there was no further scoring as Celtic racked up their fifth win in a fortnight.

Ange Postecoglou now has three matches to go before the transfer window closes and the first international break of the season, three wins would complete a fantastic start to his Celtic career as a new look team gives supporters fresh hope.
