Connor Goldson has admitted that We’re Not Rangers Any More after the 4-2 aggregate defeat from Malmo.

The want-away defender was all over the place as the Swedes won home and away to snatch away a £40m Champions League pay day.

Last season, in matches played away from supporters Goldson and his team-mates were convinced that they were half decent and competent.

With fans back in this season the Ibrox stars have lost three matches in a row with Ibrox almost empty when the final whistle blew last night on their Champions League dreams.

The Daily Record reports Goldson saying:

We’re not doing things right at either side of the pitch at the moment. We just don’t look the same team as last season and that has to change quickly.

The support was unbelievable and we sent them home disappointed. We’re disappointed. We said before the game we had a massive chance of making this a memorable night, and we failed to capitalise on it.

It’s our fault. The people on the pitch, no one else. We can’t blame management or tactics. It was a game in our own hands and we threw it away.

On Friday Goldson has the chance to put things right with a home League Cup tie against Dunfermline. Next week the Ibrox stars face Kazakhstan’s Kairat Almaty or Alashkert of Armenia for a place in the Europa League.

Former Shrewsbury starlet Goldson is in the final 11 months of his Ibrox contract, refusing to sign a new deal.
