The Green Brigade revived and redesigned some close season banners for today’s home match against Ross County.

As the days progressed without the appointment of a manager images of board members appeared outside Celtic Park with NO ENTRY signs stamped on.

Ange Postecoglou was finally appointed, starting a month ahead of the Champions League qualifier against Midtjylland with Dom McKay taking over from Peter Lawwell as CEO.

After just 72 days McKay has left the building. Personal reasons were sighted in a club statement which praised ‘absolute team player’ Michael Nicholson who has stepped quickly into the role of CEO, apparently on an acting basis.

Celtic got the win that they needed today but the infrastructure of the club leaves a lot to be desired.

Nicholson is the third CEO this year, there is no recognisable recruitment structure with Gordon Strachan working in the background on a three month consultancy.

Stability can often be a strength but it seems that a board of directors that have been in place for more than a decade has brought about complacency and decline- perhaps two issues that McKay was looking to blow away with his plans to modernise.
