After appearing on the front page of the Daily Record David Edgar spent Friday in full Twitter meltdown mode.
Unravelling the poisonous views of the Hearts & Hand broadcasting team wasn’t too difficult to achieve with the Glasgow based publisher bringing those opinions to their dwindling army of readers.
Spurred on by a spike in subscribers to his service, rising from 5,000 to 6,500 during the course of Friday, Edgar decided to slip on the battle fever rather than step back for a few days allowing the circus to move on.
Labour MSP Paul Sweeney was a focus for attack, showing his political balance prospective SNP candidate Michael Stewart was included while a rant on Follow Follow revealed that the Twitter accounts of every Daily Record employee had been saved.
Edgar’s meltdown and claims about Record reporter Mark McGivern has kept the story bubbling along, in tandem with eight arrests by Police Scotland for public acts of racism on Sunday.
Wishing that he’d keep quiet are the club from Ibrox who will have to decide whether or not Heart & Hand are invited in to Friday’s media conferences to preview the match with St Johnstone.
An invite is a show of support for Edgar and his former colleagues Hoggy and Cammy, withdrawing the invite will see the club under attack from the online Gullibles. Not an easy decision for nice guy Stewart Robertson to make over the weekend as he contemplates keeping the lights on until the January transfer window.
