Image for Gerrard reveals Morelos injury fear

Alfredo Morelos is the latest Ibrox injury doubt on the back of last night’s Europa League defeat from Lyon.

At the weekend Filip Helander suffered a knee injury against St Johnstone that is likely to rule him out until the new year with Ianis Hagi still to return from North Macedonia after returning a positive test while on international duty.

Victories for Malmo and Lyon at Fortress Ibrox in the early weeks of the season have brought Steven Gerrard’s side back towards earth with the former Liverpool man noticeably downbeat as he assessed a defeat and growing injury list.

We’ve certainly got a problem with Ryan Kent, he’ll be sent for a scan today, we’ll know the extent of it probably late afternoon or early evening. He is obviously going to be out at the weekend.

If the doctor’s prediction is right he’ll miss a few weeks. We’ll know more this evening, we’ve also got Alfredo Morelos with a bit of a tight hamstring. Obviously it’s not at Ryan Kent’s level but we might send him for a picture as well just to be sure on that one. So Alfredo a doubt as well, besides that everyone seems to have come through OK.

On Sunday Motherwell visit Ibrox followed in midweek by a Premier Sports Cup tie against Livingston. Next Saturday Gerrard takes his side to Dundee on SPFL business.
