With just over a week to go some Celtic fans are planning a return to Seville.
Just like Lisbon the name of the Spanish city means just one thing to Celtic supporters as they recall the greatest and largest airlift of football fans in Europe.
Back in 2003 fans were planning months in advance, as Martin O’Neill’s team beat Stuttgart some holidays were being booked in Spain that covered the 21st of May.
After Liverpool were beaten in the last eight things got serious, after Henrik Larsson scored in Boavista the Scottish travel trade had a job on their hands trying to find planes to charter as 80,000 made plans to be in Seville for the final.
This time around vaccines, testing and QR codes are the language of the travelling support as they make plans for the first sanctioned away day in more than 18 months- and getting back.
It might be too tight to plan for this tie but with Budapest and Leverkusen in the weeks ahead Celtic fans are getting their passports looked out as they prepare to back Ange and his new look team across Europe.
