Kyogo Furihashi has tweeted to a Celtic fan that he ‘will do my best’ after being asked about making a full recovery without rushing injury.
The striker is at the centre of an injury mystery after being substituted five minutes into the second half of Japan’s World Cup win over China.
Since Tuesday’s match there has been no comment from club or country about the injury suffered by the striker.
One Japanese Celtic fan tweeted the player:
Illustration of Kyogo Furuhashi I drew it by “Celtic Japanese Official”! Full recovery without rushing injuries #KYOGOAL May the days of rejoicing come back again
Kyogo replied with:
Thank you for the wonderful picture I will do my best
Followed by some workout and muscle emojis
A report in The Sun has claimed that Kyogo faces a month on the sidelines which would include the October internationals.
On Deadline Day Celtic signed Georgios Giakoumakis from VVV Venlo but due to transfer speculation he hasn’t played any competitive football this season.
Despite 10 days training with Celtic it is hard to see Giakoumakis starting tomorrow’s home match against Ross County which would leave Albian Ajeti as the only striker fit and available to Ange Postecoglou.
UPDATE:
Ange Postecoglou says Kyogo will be out for around 3-4 weeks after picking up an injury on international duty
