Glen Kamara is the latest Ibrox star to talk up mystery interest from mystery clubs after another transfer blank from Ross Wilson. Earlier this week Alfredo Morelos and Filip Helander read from a familiar script.

For the fourth window running the former Southampton transfer guru has been unable to bring in a worthwhile fee with Covidiot duo George Edmundson and Jordan Jones leaving for undisclosed fees.

Kamara apparently starred for Finland at the European Championships but outside of Scotland there were no credible reports of bids being made. The usual ‘keeping tabs’ and ‘showing interest’ phrases were used but long before the transfer deadline passed the prospect of transfer activity was ditched.

Back on international duty The Sun reports Kamara saying:

I know there has been interest from different leagues but my focus has always been on Rangers. I myself was not very interested in it. Mostly I thought that if something happens, then it will happen. But nothing happened in the end.

During the close season John Lundstram was brought in from Sheffield United with the midfielder believed to be on a salary similar to top earner Kemar Roofe.

Kamara is still on the contract that he signed after leaving Dundee in January 2019. Connor Goldson has also rejected signing a new contract with his deal expiring next summer.
