Celtic face an anxious wait to discover the extent of an injury suffered to Kyogo Furuhashi in today’s Japan v China World Cup qualifier.

International breaks are something to dread for clubs and their fans with many Celtic supporters watching the 4pm kick-off from Oman.

Kyogo has lit up the Scottish game since his transfer from the J-League, with seven goals in his first month as a Celt the fans have quickly found a new goal-scoring hero.

Early in the second half of today’s match he picked up a knock with Genki Haraguchi sent on as his replacement- with interest in the match ending at that point for many of the watching Celtic supporters. There are conflicting reports over whether it is a knee or muscle related injury.

After Celtic’s interest in Ange Postecoglou was revealed a few Japanese websites provided coverage of negotiations and the Australian’s media conferences with Yokohama Marinos.

Those sources will be getting checked over the rest of tonight for news on Kyogo’s injury as Postecoglou hopes to build some momentum built around the movement and goals of the former Vissel Kobe striker.
