Two days after being injured in a World Cup qualifier against China there has been absolutely no word on the fitness of Kyogo Furuhashi.

As soon as news and video clips emerged at tea-time on Tuesday Celtic fans were concerned as they tried to figure out what had happened to the new boy that lit up August with seven goals.

Kyogo just seemed to sit down, rub his knee and look concerned, almost instantly a substitute was sent on with the Celtic forward walking off around the pitch.

Since then, there has been complete silence.

Japan boss Hajime Moriyasu hasn’t been quoted on the injury which leaves the question wide open. Perhaps the injury is so trivial it isn’t worth commenting on- or the extent of it has still to be determined.

The wait for Celtic fans is set to continue into Friday unless a Scottish reporter has stumbled into the information.

Ange Postecoglou is certain to be asked for news on Kyogo at tomorrow’s lunchtime media conference, any training ground pictures or video clips are bound to be closely examined.

A sell-out crowd on Saturday will be expecting more fireworks from their new favourite-if he is fit and available.
