Allan Burrows of Motherwell got drawn into a brilliant Twitter battle as angry Ibrox fans get used to watching their team in action again.
Not content with taking the lead from a goal that was so blatantly offside that the Sportscene panel all agreed that it should have been disallowed the focus has turned to time-keeping and time-wasting.
Burrows pointed out that the dead-time at Ibrox yesterday was in line with the four previous matches for Steven Gerrard’s side outwith the Glasgow derby.
As Ibrox fans got drawn in the Motherwell CEO, without naming the particular club, recalled a team reaching the UEFA Cup Final by any which means, certainly more fair than foul.
In his final contribution Burrows reminded the gathering audience that if the match officials had did their job properly his side would have won 1-0 at Ibrox to go top of the SPFL table.
If you take the Celtic match out of it, the average ‘dead time’ in Rangers 5 SPFL Premiership matches so far this season is 50.18. So yesterday’s match was 67 seconds above the normal average. All just for context…

Quite. I recall one particular European run to a UEFA final that involved a quite magnificent show of shithousery in almost every round from the team involved… ??

I’m not celebrating anything (actually a wee bit disappointed as a poor call from the assistant has cost us top spot!!), merely presenting a fact for context. ?
