When the window closed on Scottish football at midnight on Tuesday Boli Bolingoli and Vasilis Barkas were still Celtic players.
Both players have been on the bench for Celtic but with Ange Postecoglou putting the final touches to the first stage of his overhaul their prospects of any meaningful action look bleak.
Barkas is third choice goalkeeper with Conor Hazard behind him if he is unavailable. Bolingoli was on the bench away to Alkmaar but Postecoglou now has Liam Scales, Adam Montgomery and Josip Juranovic competing with Greg Taylor.
The transfer market isn’t quite universal, there are a few European options open to players but deals will have to be completed soon.
Among the countries still doing business are Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia where the window closes on September 6, Russia (September 7), Czech Republic (September 8) and Israel on September 14.
Any loan move ultimately rests with the player, there could be game time and the opportunity to get in the shop window or a long autumn and winter checking in at Lennoxtown.
