David Friel of The Sun has claimed that Kyogo Furuhashi is facing at least a month on the sidelines after injuring his knee on international duty.

There has been a strange lack of information about the injury while happened late on Tuesday afternoon when Japan defeated China 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier.

Celtic fans have been scanning through the Japanese media for new on the injury but there has been no official comment on the extent of the injury.

In February Friel broke the news that Neil Lennon had resigned as Celtic boss with the former Celtic View reporter having a decent track record of unearthing stories inside the club.

In The Sun, Frail claims:

CELTIC fear Kyogo Furuhashi will be out of action for at least a month. SunSport understands the Japanese striker’s knee injury won’t sideline him long-term.

But Kyogo, 26, could miss SEVEN games as the Hoops enter a packed schedule of big matches. Sources in his homeland expect him to miss Japan’s next two international fixtures in four weeks’ time.

In Celtic’s last match Ange Postecoglou had the choice of Kyogo or Odsonne Edouard to play as centre-forward at Ibrox but it looks like neither will be available to face Ross County.

French Eddie will be 400 miles south preparing to face Spurs as a Crystal Palace player leaving the way clear for Georgios Giakoumakis to make his Celtic debut with Albian Ajeti the only other option.
