ABC Sport of Australia has picked up on and highlighted the fractured relationship between Ange Postecoglou and the Scottish media.

Before and after every fixture the Celtic boss meets with selected mainstream media outlets with the novelty factor fast wearing off on both sides.

Discovering a new manager, face, voice and ideas seemed like a breath of fresh air to begin with but Postecoglou is starting to see through the questioning with the tone of Alasdair Lamont of BBC Scotland after the Ferencvaros victory a prime example.

Postecoglou tried to dig the BBC reporter out of a hole with a general reply, rather than take up on that Lamont suggested that Kyogo was off form after the Celtic striker had scored a goal that will be remembered for years to come.

The first signs of a tetchy relationship were there on day one when there was a general tone that an Australian from a Japanese club wasn’t capable of understanding and managing Celtic, typically from Chris McLaughlin of BBC Scotland.

I’m not sure what you mean by jump, I guess that means that you think that I’ve worked at a lesser level.

Ange could play along with the media, give them the words and audio clips to populate their outlets but it seems that he is unlikely to fall into the Scottish way of doing things.

What Ange doesn’t realize is the Scottish press is populated by , on a good day Rangers fans , on a bad day, by celtic hating bigoted racists.

  • Joseph Mcaleer says:

Every Celtic fan should contact ABC Australia about the Biased behaviour in Scotland from the media to the Refereeing issues.

Ange has got them well sussed as a straight talking aussie won’t take the bull$hit from our blue loving media and they can’t handle someone who won’t go along with there bull$hit.

I think Ange knows fine well what the Scottish press is. In his position as Celtic manager he has to present a modicum of professionalism unlike them as well as having a wee sarcastic snipe back, professionally of course highlighting the weakness and bias of their comments.
The only thing wrong here is that he is the only one voicing a retaliatory tone from Celtic indeed from Scotland. The rest are hun bait and the silence speaks louder than words in fact its deafening as they put up with a bigoted vengeful club pretending they’re the same club.
I think the Aussie media are well aware of the anti Celtic, anti Catholic racist bias. Its the people in this country that sit meekly on their cowardly hands including our club.
Those that continue to accept that this is just the way it is are the ones that keep things just the way they are. HH
