James McCarthy is fit and available for selection for Celtic’s clash with St Johnstone.
The midfielder has yet to complete a full 90 minutes since signing for the hoops at the start of August and was unavailable for the wins over Motherwell and Ferencvaros.
Callum McGregor, Tom Rogic and David Turnbull appear to be the first choices in midfield but with two matches a week Ange Postecoglou will be needing more depth to his squad.

McCarthy signed on the same day as Joe Hart but while the keeper has become a key player the midfielder has yet to put together a run of games.
Over the last two seasons he was in and out of the Crystal Palace side but finished the 2020/21 season playing against Liverpool at Anfield.
In midweek Celtic are away to Hibs at Easter Road followed by a home match against Livingston and a trip to Budapest to take on Ferencvaros in the Europa League.
