Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Tom Rogic will be missing for 2-3 weeks.

The midfielder was substituted in the 44th minute of the win over Hibs on Wednesday after delivering a masterclass to break down the Edinburgh side.

Rogic has been enjoying his most sustained run in the team for three years but will certainly sit out the matches against Livingston, Ferencvaros and Dundee.

The timescale will rule the midfielder out of Australia’s World Cup qualifiers with the spotlight for a return on the League Cup semi-final against St Johnstone on November 20.

All being well Rogic should be available for that Hampden clash as Celtic take on the cup holders for a place in the December final.

Ewan Henderson is the closest like-for-like alternative to Rogic but has barely featured in the matchday squad this season.

Ange Postecoglou does have a lot of attacking options but the absence of Rogic is likely to see a switch of formation in tomorrow’s match against Livingston.
