‘Announce Ralston 23 year deal’ ‘Celtic bossed this’ ‘Glad big gorgeous got his goal’ Celtic fans delighted as gap at top shrinks to one point

Celtic made it three SPFL wins on the bounce with a 2-0 home win over St Johnstone to move to a point behind the three joint league leaders.

Giorgos Giakoumakis and Josip Juranovic came into the side that beat Ferenvaros in midweek and rewarded Ange Postecoglou with a goal in each half.

It was the former VVV Venlo striker that broke the deadlock in the 34th minute when he eagerly slammed home a cross from Tony Ralston with the visitors threatening to snuff Celtic out.

Giakoumakis played through the centre and showed more than enough to demonstrate that he will be very useful in the months ahead.

St Johnstone befitted from some erratic refereeing from Nick Walsh when Chris Kane was only booked for kicking out at the grounded Cameron Carter-Vickers in the 75th minute.

Five minutes later substitute Mikey Johnston was felled in the box with Juranovic sending Zander Clark the wrong way to ensure that Celtic picked up full points.
