Celtic will hold their AGM on Wednesday 17 November.
An announcement was made today to the London Stock Exchange but it didn’t mention of shareholders will be able to attend in person.
Last year’s AGM was held online, with some pandemic related restrictions in place further details about the AGM will be issued shortly.
This afternoon they announced to the London Stock Exhange:
Celtic plc confirms that its Annual General Meeting will be held at Celtic Park at 11.30 am on Wednesday 17 November 2021. Formal notice of the meeting will be issued to shareholders shortly, along with the Company’s annual report and accounts which will also be available on the Company’s website at https://www.celticfc.com/club/celtic-plc-investor-relations.
The timing means that any workers wishing to attend will need to take a full day off work, previous AGM’s have started at 9.30am and are generally completed by 12 noon.
A number of formal procedures and votes have to be made, such as re-electing directors but the main interest is always in the Question and Answer section.
While the board can hide from supporters for 364 days a year for around an hour a year at the AGM they are required to answer questions from the floor from shareholders.
Peter Lawwell normally brushes criticism aside but Chairman Ian Bankier isn’t quite as polished, it is expected that we will be asked a number of highly critical questions after overseeing last season’s performances.
Acting CEO Michael Nicholson should be heard for the first time, unless he is replaced by a permanent appointment.
During the course of 2021 Celtic have had three managers and three CEO’s.
Celtic play St Johnstone in the League Cup semi-final on November 20, the previous weekend is for international football.
