Celtic are expecting away fans to be able to attend next month’s Europa League tie away to Bayer Leverkusen.

So far the campaign has been one of frustration with a false start for Real Betis and a firm ‘forget it’ for the return match with Ferencvaros in Budapest.

Celtic haven’t had an allocation of tickets for a European away match since the visit to Copenhagen in February 2020 but the club SLO seems optimistic for the trip to Germany.

A win away to Ferencvaros on Matchday 4 would put Celtic back in contention to progress in the Europa League although a lot will depend on the head-to-head matches between Leverkusen and Real Betis who meet tonight in Spain.

Full points for either side would suit Celtic with the German’s the more impressive of the two sides from Celtic’s opening matches.

Only the eight group winners will definitely progress to the last 16 with the runners-up facing a play off against the third placed teams from the Champions League.
